SRD Payment Note: Unlike other SASSA grants which have fixed dates at the start of each month, SRD R370 payments are processed in a window toward the end of the month (typically between the 26th and 31st). The exact date depends on when SASSA completes processing for each batch of beneficiaries.

April 2026 Payment Dates & Grant Increases

The new financial year starts in April 2026 with confirmed grant increases from the 2026 National Budget.

When Will April 2026 Payment Dates Be Announced?

SASSA typically releases the new financial year payment schedule in late March. The 2026/27 payment dates (April 2026 – March 2027) will be published on the official SASSA website.

Based on SASSA's consistent pattern, you can generally expect:

  • Older Persons Grant: First or second working day of the month
  • Disability Grant: Second or third working day
  • Children's Grants: Third or fourth working day
  • SRD R370: Payment window between 26th and 31st of the month

If a payment date falls on a weekend or public holiday, SASSA adjusts to the next working day.

How Are SASSA Payments Made?

SASSA offers several ways to receive your grant payment.

Bank Account

Payment is deposited directly into your bank account. This is the fastest method. Ensure your banking details are correct on the SRD portal.

Post Office

Collect your payment at any South African Post Office. Bring your SA ID. Available from your payment date until the end of the month.

💳

Cash Send / eWallet

Receive your payment via Cash Send or eWallet. Withdraw at any ATM or participating retailer using your cellphone number.

Wait 2–3 Business Days

SRD payments are processed in batches. Your payment may take a few days after the window opens. Don't panic immediately.

Verify Your Banking Details

Log into srd.sassa.gov.za and check that your bank account or payment method is correct.
